Cllr John Godden (Meadvale & St John's)

“I have lived in the Borough for 13 years having identified the area as having the perfect balance of open space and town facilities in which to bring up my family.

“Prior to that I lived in Kingston, where I was a Councillor for 8 years and gained valuable experience both representing the residents of my ward and also taking responsibility for a number of Council departments including Leisure, Housing and Finance.

“My business life has been in the financial world, latterly building a London and Chicago based investment business. I am currently involved in a business that invests money from mostly not-forprofit organisations into areas such as healthcare.

“I recently found myself heavily involved in the campaign to keep Dunottar School open. I was determined that such a good school should not be lost at a time when the need for school places is growing so quickly. It was very satisfying to be part of a very good outcome for the school and its present and future pupils - and reminded me of how satisfying being involved in helping local causes can be.

“With my children now growing up and my business established, I have the time, energy and focus once again to stand for election, hopefully putting my experience, abilities and opinions to good use."
