Borough Councillors

Cllr Simon Parnall (Kingswood & Burgh Heath)

Simon Parnall has lived in Kingswood for fourteen years, and has served as Borough Councillor since being elected in 2012.  He is married to Judy and they have a twelve year-old son, Matthew.

Cty Cllr Barbara Thomson (Earlswood & Reigate South; Earlswood & Whitebushes)

Barbara Thomson has been a resident of Earlswood and Whitebushes for the last 10 years, Borough Councillor for her area since 2007, and was elected as County Councillor for the Earlswood & Reigate South division in 2013.Born in London Barbara moved to Whitebushes 10 years ago she has five children, six granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.Barbara has worked tirelessly for the community both before she became an elected Councillor and afterwards.  She works part-time in Reigate as an office manager.

Cllr Keith Foreman (Chipstead, Hooley & Woodmansterne)

Keith Foreman was born in Edinburgh. He was educated at Kingston Grammar School, and has lived in Surrey for much of his life. He has lived in the Borough of Reigate and Banstead since 1997, and in Netherne on the Hill since 2004. He is married to Helen, and they have two adult children, Rachel and Stephen.

Cllr Derek Allcard (South Park & Woodhatch)

“I am Derek Allcard, and I have lived in the area for 18 years with my wife Gillian, just down the other end of Lonesome Lane.“I’m an engineer by profession, and having recently retired I have the time and enthusiasm to work as your Councillor if elected in May.

Cllr Sam Walsh (Association Treasurer & Banstead Village Candidate)

“Banstead is a vibrant, attractive Village, which has developed whilst retaining its character. With the continued pressure on housing we must resist the pressure for unnecessary and inappropriate developments within the village and to protect the Village, the surrounding greenbelt and the Borough as a whole.

Cllr Rosemary Absalom (Reigate Central)

“A lifelong Surrey resident, I have lived in Reigate since 1980. I am married to David, and we have one adult son.“An experienced office administrator by profession, my working life began at the Canadian High Commission in London and then, after marriage, I started working locally in and around Reigate and Redhill.

Cllr Michael Blacker (Reigate Central)

I was born in the Borough and have lived here all my life. I have been married to Evelyn for over 40 years, and have three married daughters, and three grandchildren.I have 17 years’ experience as a Councillor, including a period representing central Reigate.

Cllr John Stephenson (Chipstead, Hooley & Woodmansterne)

A Chipstead resident for 40 years, on retirement from my profession as an accountant in 2007, I was elected to the Borough Council.As a Councillor, I have served on the Planning and Overview and Scrutiny Committees, overseeing the key financial and development policies of the Council. I have also served as Deputy Mayor for two years.
